PURPOSE:To eliminate the loss of a hard case and the damage of a disc and to simplify the structure by constituting the case where a recording medium is stored so that a pair of case half bodies are separated from each other in a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:A pair of case half bodies 7 (7a and 7b) and 8 (8a and 8b) which are connected and released freely are provided with an insertion hole 33 of a case 6, where the recording medium is stored, and a pair of guide means 42 and 43 which guide both side edges of the case 6 inserted from the insertion hole 33 and are engaged with a pair of case half bodies respectively to hold the case 6. A connecting/releasing means 9 of a pair of half bodies of the case 6 inserted to a prescribed position through the insertion hole 33 and a means 10 which displaces means 42 and 43 to separate a pair of half bodies from the medium are provided. Thus, the loss of the hard case and the damage of the medium surface are eliminated, and it is unnecessary to provide various mechanisms to simplify the structure.
