Packaging material comprising iron foil, and container and container lid composed thereof

Disclosed is a packaging material which comprises a laminate having an iron foil having a tensile strength ( sigma B) in the range represented by the following formula: 100 kg/mm2>/= sigma B>/=30 kg/mm2 and a thickness (T) in the range represented by the following formula: 120 mu m>/=T>/=15 mu m and being provided with a surface treatment layer containing metallic tin, metallic chromium or metallic nickel, and an organic resin covering having a total thickness (t) in the range represented by the following formula: T1/nC/ sigma B>/=t>/=3 mu m wherein n is 5.6 and C is 4630. A metal or pigment having an action of improving the processability, an anti-corrosive action and a hiding action is incorporated or contained in the organic resin coating layer. This packaging material is excellent in processability, corrosion resistance, storability, appearance characteristics and safety.
