For both working environment and environmental hygiene reasons, there is often a need for dust elimination in the open dumping of dust-producing material of the type grain, flour , domestic waste, peat, etc. In the invention, this is effected by an evacuation unit placed on top of a receiving container 1. In open dumping from a platform body 3, a dust-mingled rising air current 5 is formed in the receiving container, which is evacuated through openings 9 in the unit placed close to the dumping opening of the container. These openings are located in a chamber 8 which is constantly air-filled, irrespective of the degree of filling of the receiving container, and which is sufficiently large for the air velocity to be reduced to prevent material from being sucked along in the evacuation.
