PURPOSE:To improve residual expandability by adding graphite and/or a carbonaceous material, fine powder of a Cr-B alloy having a specified molar ratio of Cr:B, fine Al or Al alloy powder and a binder to a refractory material, kneading them, molding end hardening the kneaded material. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds of refractory materials such as MgO and SiO2 are prepd. and 5-30wt.% graphite and/or carbonaceous material, 0.5-10wt.% fine powder of a Cr-B alloy having (1:1)-(1:2) ratio of Cr:B, <=10% impurity content and <=150 mum particle size and 0.55wt.% file Al or Al alloy powder having <=150mum particle size are added to the refractory materials. A proper amt. of an org. and/or inorg. binder is further added, they are kneaded and the kneaded material is molded and hardened at 150-1,000 deg.C to obtain refractories having a prolonged service life. |
