PURPOSE: To make up a reaction can in a lightweight and stable manner by forming a body into a gutter form and also integrally forming an air bag holding ring notch and a mounting tapped hole at the sidewall as one body, then holding the gutter form with both end plates while engaging a cover with a groove at the outward of the sidewall. CONSTITUTION: The body part of a reaction can 1 is made up into being gutter form by means of extrusion molding, and its sidewall is formed with a notch with a fence part holding an air bag holding ring 16 and also integrally formed with five thread grooves 26, 28, 30, 32 and 34 for mounting both end plates and two upper cover snap engaging grooves 20 and 22. A throat part 18a of the reaction can 1 is provided with a tether 54, and both the ends 54a and 54b opposed are attached to a mounting ring 16 through a band 56. In addition, the tether 54 is pushed down to the circumference of a gas generator 40, upon which an air bag 18 is folded, and it is covered with a cover 24 where a breaking crack 24d is formed, and this cover is snappingly engaged with the grooves 20 and 22 via two hinges 24a' and 24b'. In this connection, the can 1 is all make up of aluminum by extrusion molding, so that it is lighter in weight and stable in strength. |
