The access gate has a door (5) which pivots automatically between a closed and open position, with a detection system (15) coupled to an optical and/or acoustic warning device (16) for providing a warming signal upon passage through the access gate in the wrong direction. The warming device (16) is incorporated in the door frame (7), or attached to the latter, enclosed by a protective cap which has slits for passage of the sound waves, or the light signal. Alternatively, the warning device (16) has an electronic control for providing a spoken warning via a loudspeaker. ADVANTAGE - Simple installation of warning device.
