Appts. for mechanically machining cylinders, e.g. drilling grooves into papermachine dryer cylinders, comprises (i) a slightly arched, essentially rectangular pressure plate (1) whose four corner sections are connected in pairs to sideways bent-and lengthways gables (3) on a stand by means of an insertable pressure cylinder (2), and (ii) front and rear plates (5,6) that hold the appts. together, the front plate (5) having on its outer side a computer interface (7) that includes an outer section (8) with grips (9) for the machining tool, the outer section (8) being guided in both the horizontal and vertical directions. The side gables (3) have rotatable bodies (10) at their respective ends that guide the appts. towards the cylinder to be machined, whilst at the same time the pressure plate (1) is brought to bear closely against the cylinder or roll. |
