Multi-way connector for a polyphase cable (20) comprising a housing (2) containing the spread-out conductors (21, 22, 23, 24) of the cable (20), stripped at its end, an electrical connecting means (5) for each of the conductors (21, 22, 23, 24), characterised in that it further includes a means (11) for the purposes, before insertion of the stripped cable (20) into the housing means (2), of spacing apart and holding in spaced-apart position each of the conductors (21, 22, 23, 24), the means (11) remaining integral with the conductors (21, 22, 23, 24) once the holding is achieved, and the means (11) further including an indexing means (12, 13) interacting with a corresponding means (15, 16) carried by the housing (2). <IMAGE>
