<p>PURPOSE:To expedite a reduction in thickness of a magneto-optical disk driver by preventing generation of a wasteful air gap after a cartridge is inserted. CONSTITUTION:When a cartridge 1 is completely inserted, a base 3 is moved upward by a shifting mechanism, and approached to the cartridge 1. The cartridge 1 is held at a predetermined position by a large pin 3a and a small pin 3b on the base 3, a disk 1a in the cartridge 1 is held by a spindle motor 3c on the base 3, and rotatably driven. In this case, an auxiliary electrode 2 so sends a current as to apply a magnetic field to the disk 11a as the base 3 moved upward. According to this structure, since an air gap 8 acts as a moving space of the base 3 to be effectively moved, a wasteful space in a disk driver can be omitted.</p> |
