<p>PURPOSE:To provide a pumped storage power generating apparatus which can perform an economical automatic frequency adjustment during a pumping operation. CONSTITUTION:A pumped storage power generating apparatus has an AC energization synchronous machine M that is directly connected to a reversible pump turbine 3, and an energization converter 6 for effecting a variable speed operation of the AC energization synchronous machine M by controlling its secondary voltage. The power generating apparatus further has a rotation speed correcting device 35 for correcting an instruction rotation speed so as to cause the apparatus to escape from an operation prohibited band when the instruction rotation speed enters the operation prohibited band near a zero slip, and a current reducing circuit 33 for reducing an energizing current while the instruction rotation speed is within the operation prohibited band.</p> |
