An ink jet recording method for performing a recording operation by discharging an ink droplet composed of an ink composition containing a pigment, a water soluble resin for dispersing the pigment and water to a recording member, on which data is recorded, the ink jet recording method comprising a step of supplying a solution containing particles and/or binder polymer on to the recording member, prior to discharging the ink.
