PURPOSE:To diffuse water mass while effectively aerating deep water by providing an air diffusion member to the bottom part of an air diffusion device main body fixed in water and connecting the lower end of an exhaust pipe to the lid like member of the air diffusion device main body and forming the surface of water under the rear surface of the lid like member at the time of air diffusion. CONSTITUTION:An air diffusion device main body 2 is fixedly arranged above the bottom part of lakes and marshes by support leg parts 8 and air is sent to the air diffusion members 4 attached to the support leg parts 8 from the air supply source on the ground through an air sending pipe 7 to eject a large amt. of air bubbles into the water of a deep layer 33. The air bubbles ejected at this time rise through the water of the deep layer to be gathered by a lid like member 5 and discharged to the circulated mixing layer of a shallow part through an exhaust pipe 6. The surface 20 of the water is formed under the rear surface of the lid like member 5 and, when rising air bubbles reach the surface 20 of the water, the boundary surface of lake water and air is violently fluctuated to aerate deep water and a circulating stream is generated to transfer and diffuse water mass improved in dissolved oxygen to the far water area of the deep layer.
