This container for holding objects in the boot of a motor vehicle provided with a housing (3) for holding a spare wheel (4) of the vehicle, on which a component forming a lid (5) extends, the said container (1) comprising a base plate and a peripheral rim, is characterised in that it has a general shape approximately complementary to at least one part of the spare wheel and of the housing for holding the latter, in order to allow it to be stored, after inversion, around the wheel in the housing. <IMAGE>
