PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart flexibility and stretchability to a connecting case for optical fibers formed by mating two connecting box half bodies having a C shape in section without impairing the protective function of various appliances housed therein and to prevent the degradation in transmission efficiency by forming the central part of this case as a bellows-shaped stretching part having a C shape in section and integrally providing this case with hard parts having a C shape in section on both side parts of this stretching part. SOLUTION: The connecting box (connecting case) 1 is constituted by mating the two connecting box half bodies 1a having the C shape in section over the entire part and fitting end plates 3 into the annular grooves 2 at both ends. The central parts of the connecting box half bodies 1a are formed as the thin bellows-like flexible parts (stretching parts) 4. Both right and left side parts are formed as the thick hard parts 5, 5. The semicircular grooves 2 for fitting the end plates 3 are formed on the inside surfaces at the outer ends of the hard parts 5, 5. The hard parts of the connecting box half bodies 1a are formed of hard plastic materials and the flexible parts 4 are integrally molded by the hard plastic materials for the hard parts and relatively soft plastic having high compatibility with the hard plastic materials. |
