<p>The friction clutch comprises a friction disk, a clutch thrust plate (1), a cover (2), a diaphragm (3) operative between the cover (2) and the clutch thrust plate (1), said clutch also comprising a wear adjusting device including ramps (11) circumferentially arranged and adapted to be driven by means of a toothing (18) borne at their periphery and with which a worm screw (13) tangentially arranged co-operates, a ratchet wheel (20) for driving the worm screw (13) in rotation being provided and made operational by the wear of the friction lining when the clutch is engaged, as well as backstop ratchet handles (36) preventing the worm screw (13) from turning in the direction opposite to the one in which it is driven in rotation by the ratchet wheel when it is operating, the worm screw (13), the backstop ratchet handles (36) and the ratchet wheel (20) being borne by a support (12) integral with the cover (2): the ratchet wheel (20) of the worm screw (13), is controlled by the diaphragm (3).</p> |
