PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous type rapid BOD measuring method and its measuring device which can measure in a short time by reforming a BOD measuring method, and can carry out the measuring in an automatic continuous system. SOLUTION: This device consists of a sample tank 2 prepared suitable for measuring a field sample, reaction container 1 to maintain the activity of a microorganism, culture tank 3 to house a nutrient necessary for growing the microorganism, pumps 8 and 9 to transfer a liquid, a magnetic mixer 5 to mix the solution in the reaction container 1, and a microprocessor 12 to control and calculate all the operations of the device, and to diagnose the device by itself. The measuring method consists of a continuous cultivation phase, an endogenous respiration phase, an endogenous respiration speed taking phase, a sample input phase, and a BOD q measuring phase. |
