BACTERIA OF GENUS BACILLUS AND INSECTICIDAL PROTEIN

A Bt strain showing an insecticidal activity not only on lepidoptera but also other insects; insecticidal proteins produced by this strain and genes thereof; hosts producing the insecticidal proteins; and pesticides. The novel strain is SSK-10 belonging to Bacillus thuringiensis and deposited under the accession number FERM BP-6162. The above insecticidal proteins contain an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO.2 optionally having the substitution, deletion, addition or insertion of one or more amino acids and exhibiting an insecticidal activity.
