Compounds of the formulae I and II <IMAGE> in which R1 and R3 and also R4 and R6 stand for C1-C30-alkyl or C1-C30-alkyl-CO- and R2 and also R5 stand for H or C1-C30-alkyl, with the proviso that the total number of C atoms of the alkyl groups is at least 12, and their salts with inorganic or organic acids. These compounds are fluorophores of high basicity, which are suitable as fluorophores in membranes for the optical determination of cations in aqueous media, particularly potassium ions, by the measurement, in particular, of the concentration-dependent lowering of the fluorescence. |
