<p>PURPOSE:To perform effective and easy treatment of particulates by composing a filter mainbody of porous conductive ceramics and PTC property ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A flange 3 is attached to both ends of a cylindrical tube 2 in a filter case 1. A honeycomb structure filter mainbody 4 composed of silicon carbide conductive ceramics and silicon oxide PTC(positive temperature coefficient) property ceramics is housed in the filter case 1 via an insulator 5. Particulates in exhaust gas is adsorbed and trapped in the filter mainbody 4. In this case, if an electrode 6 is active to heat the filter mainbody 4 containing the conductive ceramics, particulates adsorbed thereto is burned out and discharged to the atmosphere. In this way, there is no need for removal of particulates by demounting the filter 9 from an exhaust tube each time.</p> |
