PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a sorting print processing efficient by printing a 1st set while storing data obtained by encoding image data in a storage part, and printing 2nd and succeeding sets with image data obtained by decoding the data. SOLUTION: A control part 6 of a print control unit 3 performs data input control over an external I/F 5 which receives print data from a host device 1, drawing timing (for securing, releasing, etc., an image memory 10a) control for expanding print data into image data at a drawing process part 7, control over image data to a transfer unit 4 for print output, and the encoding and decoding, and rotation of image data for sorting print, and controls the storage of data in a storage part 10b. The 1st set is printed out while the image data is encoded and stored as 1st data in the storage part 10b. Further, 2nd and succeeding sets are printed out repeatedly in the same page order with the print output of the 1st set by using the image data obtained by decoding the 1st data.
