HDD AND ITS TRACKING METHOD

PURPOSE: A hard disk being recorded a servo pattern having different phases and a method for tracking thereof is provided to detect a head output signal and a burst signal without a distortion although a length of a bit being recorded on a disk is reduced remarkably. CONSTITUTION: A servo information area of a hard disk is divided into an A/B burst section and a C/D burst section. Phases of an A burst signal and B burst signal being recorded in the A/B burst section are recorded differently thereto. Phases of a C burst signal and D burst signal being recorded in the C/D burst section are recorded differently thereto. The A burst signal is recorded in a +1/2 head section of the "n-1"th track and a -1/2 head section of the "n"th track. The B burst signal is recorded in a +1/2 head section of the "n"th track and a -1/2 head section of the "n+1"th track responded to the section where the A burst signal is recorded as a phase different from the phase of the A burst signal. The C burst signal is recorded in a -1/2 head section of the "n+1"th track and a +1/2 head section of the "n+1"th track. The D burst signal is recorded in a -1/2 head section of the "n"th track and a +1/2 head section of the "n"th track responded to the section where the C burst signal is recorded as a phase different from the phase of the C burst signal. The phase of an A burst signal is the same as the phase of a C burst signal. The phase of a B burst signal is the same as the phase of a D burst signal.
