The device has a ratable powder container and an arrangement for forced mechanical transport of the powder from the powder container into a transport gas flow. A connection for pressure equalization between the powder container and the transport gas line is provided in addition to the connection between the powder container and the transport gas line via the mechanical forced powder transport arrangement. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of thermal spraying with a powder transport device.
