PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic recording medium low in noise, having a large area and using super fine particles coated with carbon by improving dispersibility of the super fine particles in a coating liquid. SOLUTION: (1) A magnetic recording medium wherein a magnetic layer is formed by applying a magnetic paint containing magnetic powder formed by subjecting ferromagnetic powder consisting of the super fine particles coated with carbon to surface oxidation treatment and a bonding agent onto a substrate. (2) A magnetic recording medium wherein a magnetic layer is formed by applying a magnetic paint containing the ferromagnetic powder consisting of the super fine particles coated with carbon, a dispersing agent and a bonding agent onto a substrate. (3) A magnetic recording medium wherein a magnetic layer is formed by applying a magnetic paint containing magnetic powder formed by subjecting the ferromagnetic powder consisting of the super fine particles coated with carbon to surface oxidation treatment, a dispersing agent and a bonding agent onto a substrate. |
