PURPOSE: A system for automatically controlling a train using a radio communication and a method thereof are provided to prevent an accident due to a location detection error by detecting a location of a train and controlling an operation of the train. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of location information display device(162) transmit installation location information and track information on the radio. A GPS receiver(131) receives a GPS signal and outputs location information of a train. A moving direction detector(151) detects a moving direction of the train. A first radio communication system(110) transmits location information and a target operation speed of the train and train traveling information on the radio. A second radio communication system(120) includes a plurality of base station for performing a radio communication, a control station for controlling the base station, and a management station for concentrating data of each control station and managing an operation of the train. A train control system includes a mobile station for performing a radio communication with the base station, a speed detector for detecting a speed of the train, an alarm signal generator for generating an alarm signal, a speed controller for accelerating or decelerating the speed of the train.
