PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the supporting force of a steering column against a supporting bracket without increasing the force required to operate a tilt lever. SOLUTION: A recessed part 18 is formed on an inner end face of a tilt nut 11a. When the tilt nut 11a and a tilt bolt 10 are tightened, an end face of an elevating/lowering bracket 7a fixed to a steering column 6 presses a part of a perpendicular plate part 2 toward the recessed part 18. As a result, a part of the perpendicular plate 2 is elastically deformed in a bending manner, and the elevating/lowering bracket 7a is firmly fixed to a supporting bracket 1. |
