PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device that can simply capture a spherical omnidirectional video image and reproduce it. SOLUTION: A spherical shell shaped structure 11 is formed to be a spherical basket with meshes by wires, the spherical basket is used to resemble the earth, wires 13, 14 are stretched around in directions of the latitude and the longitude as±15 degrees,±45 degrees and±75 degrees in latitude and as 0 degree, 30 degrees, 60 degrees, 90 degrees, etc., in longitude around an equator 12 as a center at an interval of 30 degrees. An illumination body 15 comprising a light emitting element is placed at cross points of the wires 13, 14 in the directions of the latitude and longitude. The lighting bodies 15 are subjected to lighting control by a lighting pattern from a lighting signal generator. An image input configuration section 16 configured to be an omnidirectional photographing sphere and supported by a support 17 is placed in the middle of the spherical shell shaped structure 11.
