The device for handling a wheelchair comprises a frame (1) located on the ground and on which is a platform (4) at a limited level above it. At the front of the platform is plate (10) pivotable relatively to the rear edge and connected with a motor-driven mechanism (12). The motor-driven mechanism imparts to the plate repeated oscillating movements, both upwards and downwards in relation to a theoretical neutral plane in extension of the platform.
