PURPOSE: A system and method for managing a discount coupon using a member confirmation unit and a recording medium including a program source thereof are provided to purchase a commodity at low cost by supplying discount coupon information for a user and applying the discount rate of a corresponding discount coupon when the user purchases a commodity or uses a charged service using the discount coupon information. CONSTITUTION: A member confirmation unit(20) includes recorded user identification. A discount coupon supply server(40) stores the user identification recorded in the member confirmation unit(20) and discount coupon information for discounting a partial amount of money to be paid when a user purchases a commodity or uses a charged service. An RF terminal(30) reads the recorded user identification, transmits the user identification to the discount coupon supply server(40) with a member confirmation request signal, receives a member confirmation message transmitted from the discount coupon supply server(40), and outputs the member confirmation message to an exterior. The RF terminal(30) receives the discount coupon information being transmitted from the discount coupon supply server(40) and stores the discount coupon information. A POS(Point-Of-Sale)(50) reads bar code data of a commodity purchased by the user, searches discount coupon information corresponded to the bar code data in the RF terminal(30), and suggests a price calculated by applying a corresponding discount rate to the user.
