PURPOSE: A floating connector and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce occupation area of contacts, thereby realizing high-density mounting on a PCB(Printed Circuit Board) by arranging leg elements of the contacts in a zigzag shape. CONSTITUTION: An insulating housing(10) has a plurality of contacts(30A,30B) arranged in at least one row in the housing. Each of the contacts includes a fixing element(31B) for fixing to the housing, a contact element(35B) for contacting a mating contact, a leg element(34B) for connecting to a PCB, and an elastic element(33B) disposed between the contact element and the leg element and having a curved shape. Herein, the elastic element is extended along the disposition direction of the contacts and a bent section(32B) of each contact is formed between the fixing element and the elastic element or between the contact element and the leg element. Therefore, the leg elements of the contacts are arranged in a zigzag shape.
