PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a new anticancer agent or an anticancer activity-reinforcing agent, comprising identifying a discharging pump for discharging an anticancer agent from cancer cells and searching a substance for inhibiting the discharging pump. SOLUTION: This method for screening the anticancer agent or the anticancer activity-reinforcing agent uses TETRAN gene having a pump function for discharging the anticancer agent from cancer cells. Concretely, the method for screening the anticancer agent is characterized by transducing a cancer cell with the TETRAN gene having a pump function for discharging the anticancer agent, culturing the transduced cancer cell together with an anticancer agent or an anticancer activity-reinforcing agent, and detecting the survival rate of the cell to evaluate the discharge inhibition of the anticancer agent.
