PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving the side slip resistant performance in a wet mode and in a snowy mode while maintaining the braking performance. SOLUTION: Three ribs 3 are provided on a center area 1A of a tread face 1. A first lug groove 4 extending in the tire width direction with only one end communicated with a main groove 2 is arranged at predetermined spacing in each rib 3 in the tire circumferential direction T. At least one sipe 5 extending in the tire circumferential direction T is provided at the position to substantially equally divide the rib widths W1, W2 while only one end thereof is communicated with the first lug groove between the first lug grooves 4 of each rib 3. The length L1 of the sipe 5 in the tire circumferential direction is in a range of 40-60% of the distance L2 between the first lug grooves 4.
