PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is difficult to specify a fault part causing a timeout error, even if a transmitter detects the timeout error. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the fault isolating method in an information system including the transmitter transmitting control information and a receiver connected with the transmitter so as to exchange information for receiving the control information and transmitting information of a response to the received control information. If response information to control information can not be obtained within a predetermined time, the transmitter acquires the time of the finally transmitted control information as a first time, acquires either later one of the time of response information finally transmitted by the receiver or the time of control information finally received by the receiver as a second time, and isolates a fault part based on the first time and the second time.
