<p>A relay device is connected to a network connected to a plurality of communication nodes and a plurality of communication routes for relaying a signal via at least one of the communication nodes may exist between the arbitrary communication nodes. In the relay device, a relay method judges whether a received packet is a BPDU or a local BPDU. If the packet is a BPDU, the BPDU is discarded. If the packet is a local BPDU, an original BPDU is acquired from the local BPDU and the original BPDU is processed. When transmitting a BPDU, a BPDU is generated and wrapped in the format of the local BPDU and broadcasted. Thus, it is possible to exchange a local BPDU without affecting other bridge having a normal spanning tree function.</p> |
