PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain reduction in the air volume due to delaying in the closing timing of an intake valve when a rotating speed of a camshaft reduces. SOLUTION: This V type 8-cylinder engine increases in torque for rotating the intake camshaft when closing the intake valve in a #1 cylinder and a #3 cylinder of a left bank. A nose of a cam 510 for opening and closing the intake valve of the #1 cylinder and a nose of a cam 530 for opening and closing the intake valve of the #3 cylinder, are formed in a phase position further dislocated in the ignition timing advance direction by X° (X > 0) from a position dislocated by 90° in the ignition timing advance direction to a nose of a cam for opening and closing the intake valve of the cylinder ignited after 180° at a crank angle.
