PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce film shrinkage caused in film formation of a photoreceptor, to suppress deterioration of electrical properties attributed to the film shrinkage, and to provide an image forming apparatus which is free of problems such as peeling of a photosensitive layer and ensures excellent mechanical durability, low residual potential, excellent durability and environmental stability. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a photoreceptor contains a charge generating material, a naphthalenetetracarboxylic acid diimide as a charge transport material and a compound represented by a general formula (I) in a photosensitive layer, wherein the photosensitive layer has a glass transition point (Tg) of≤130°C.
