METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING WIRE GRID POLARIZER

A method for manufacturing a wire grid polarizer is provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by simplifying a manufacturing process. A transparent substrate(100) including a transparent insulating layer(110) and a self-assembly mono-layer(120) having periodic openings of a stripe type formed on the transparent insulating layer is prepared. A double polymer including a first and second polymers(151,152) is formed on the self-assembly mono-layer in order to fill up the openings. The first and second polymers are alternately arranged by heat-treating the double polymer layer. A guide pattern is formed by removing the second polymer. A plurality of protrusions including the first polymer are arranged in the guide pattern. A metal layer is formed from a top surface to a part of a lateral surface of each protrusion of the guide pattern.
