<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric porcelain composition and an electronic component which have reduced amount of electrostriction and can improve IR life. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric porcelain composition has a main component containing BaTiO<SB>3</SB>, and a first subcomponent containing BaZrO<SB>3</SB>, a second subcomponent containing Mg oxide, a third subcomponent containing an oxide of a rare earth element (R), a forth subcomponent containing oxides of one or more elements selected from Mn, Cr, Co and Fe, and a fifth subcomponent containing oxides of one or more elements selected from Si, Al, Ge, B and Li, wherein the dielectric porcelain composition has dielectric particles and crystal grain boundaries, at least a part of the dielectric particles in the dielectric particles has a surface diffusion structure constituted of a center layer and a diffusion layer which exists around the center layer, and it satisfies Cmax/Cb>1 when the concentration of Mg near the interface of the dielectric particles is Cb and the max value of the concentration of Mg at the diffusion layer is Cmax. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
