<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content processor capable of restoring a recording medium to a state before a deletion operation, even when a size of control information is big. <P>SOLUTION: A JPEG file is stored in a data area of a memory card 34 in a camera mode. The control information stored in a control area of the memory card 34 is updated related with recording processing of the JPEG file. A distribution of a copying area across over the data area and a flash memory is controlled to increase a distribution ratio of the data area along with an increase of a capacity of the data area. The control information on the control area is copied in the copying area by a CPU 40 when a regeneration mode is selected. The CPU 40 deletes file information of the desired JPEG file from the control area, when the deletion operation is executed under the regeneration mode. The control information copied in the copying area is returned to the control area in response to a restoration operation under the regeneration mode.
