PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the resolution of a middle tone by expressing the tone with directly changing the density of dot without using a dither pattern in a thermal transfer printing means. SOLUTION: The middle tone record system in a thermosensitive recording paper consists of a counter which moves with P Hz and reversed the output, a memory unit for performing the storage and summons of shade data with an address control clock of Q Hz calculated by multiplying n-th power of 2 to the above P, an n-bit adder for adding the shade data read from the above memory unit with Q Hz and the output of the above counter with an operation frequency of Q Hz and an apparatus which transmits the carry bit of the n bit adder to a printing part.
