PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensor capable of reducing the size and the cost. SOLUTION: The magnetic sensor comprises a magnetic field detecting chip, having a magnetic field detecting element for detecting a magnetic field and an output terminal for outputting an output signal from the magnetic field detecting element; and a substrate that mounts the magnetic field detecting chip and has a connection terminal connected to the output terminal of the magnetic field detecting chip, formed on the mounting surface of the magnetic field detecting chip. In the magnetic sensor, the output terminal formation surface of the magnetic field detecting chip is arranged so that it will not be parallel to the mounting surface of the substrate, and the magnetic field detecting chip is mounted on the substrate. Especially, the output terminal formation surface of the magnetic field detecting chip is arranged substantially vertical with respect to the mounting surface of the substrate.
