PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article with an absorbent body wherein high liquid holding power is provided, liquid return is suppressed and diffusion of liquid in the inside is controlled, to provide the absorbent article with the absorbent body wherein the density and thickness of the absorbent body are turned to desired ones and the thickness is made uniform in the part of high absorbent body density and basis weight and the part where they are low as needed further, and to provide a manufacturing method of the absorbent article three-dimensionally forming the absorbent body having the excellent function efficiently. SOLUTION: The absorbent article 10 is provided with the absorbent body 1, the absorbent body 1 has an area 1a wherein the density and the basis weight are increased in a part of it, the part wherein the density of the absorbent body is increased further locally is provided in the area 1a wherein the density and the basis weight are increased, and the part has a corresponding recessed part 5.
