The current supply process for delivering electrical energy from a primary supply to a battery, involves using a first transformation stage of the primary supply voltage to deliver a secondary alternating voltage. The first stage is followed by a second stage which includes high frequency switching conversion to a second frequency which is higher than the secondary voltage frequency. The second stage of conversion delivers to the battery load (7) a sensibly continuous voltage. The system also has a current generator which supplies the load (7) so that the primary current has a predetermined sinusoidal waveform, following a sinusoidal or quasi-sinusoidal law. USE/ADVANTAGE - Uses relatively cheap small size components whose cost is less than those systems using double stage HF isolation.
