The present invention relates to an apparatus for folding a headrest, comprising: a folding frame installed on a sheet back; and a folding means folding a headrest organically. The folding means comprises: a fixing latch fixed on a central portion of a hinge shaft in the folding frame; a return spring provided adjacent to the fixing latch, wound to the hinge shaft and having one end fixed on the fixing latch; a rotation bracket fixed on the headrest, coupled to the hinge shaft to be able to rotate, and constantly recovering to the vertical state by elastic force generated from the return spring as the rotation bracket is connected to an end unit of the return spring; and a movable latch coupled to a support bar axially, engaging with the fixing latch by corresponding to the rotation of the headrest to fix the recovering rotation bracket temporally, and maintain the folding state or vertical state of the headrest, wherein the support bar is protruding toward the inner side of the rotation bracket. The apparatus for folding a headrest has effects of: enabling a driver to secure good rear view visibility; enhancing design freedom since a pad is reduced in thickness and is formed compactly; and reducing weight and saving costs since the number of components used is reduced.
