An oil collector for a guide rail, its use and a method for collecting lubricating oil from a guide rail are disclosed. The oil collector (2) comprises a receiving element (3) for receiving the lubricating oil flowing along the guide rail (2), the receiving element (3) comprising a portion formed to be set against the guide rail (2). The oil collector is characterized in that the receiving element (3) comprises a block of absorbent material (3) absorbing the lubricating oil. The oil collector (1) can further comprise a releasable fastening member (4) for pressing the block of absorbent material (3) against the guide rail (2) thereby securing the block of absorbent material (3) in place. |
