1. A battery system comprising:
at least two battery modules connected in series to provide a battery voltage, each of the at least two battery modules comprising:
a plurality of battery cells connected in series to provide a battery module voltage;a cell voltage sensing unit configured to measure a battery cell voltage of each battery cell of the plurality of battery cells; anda module voltage sensing unit configured to measure the battery module voltage independently of the cell voltage sensing unit; and a central controller, the central controller being operatively connected to the cell voltage sensing unit of each of the at least two battery modules via a common communication bus, the central controller being operatively connected to the module voltage sensing unit of each of the at least two battery modules via separate connections. |
