The present invention relates to the use of metadoxine for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD/ADD) in a subject who is not under the influence of alcohol, is not an alcololic and abstinent alcoholic. The medicament may comprise metadoxine formulated for sustained release or immediate release, wherein the ratio between sustained-release metadoxine and immediate-release metadoxine is 60:40, 80:20. The sustained-release formulation provides for sustained release of metadoxine within at least 8 hours. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of a composition comprising metadoxine for the treatment of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD/ADD) in a subject who is not under the influence of alcohol after alcohol consumption in any form, is not an alcololic and abstinent alcoholic. Said subject is a child, an adolescent, an adult, or an elderly person. |
