A hood linkage having main pillars 5, a hood frame 4 pivoted to them at 6 and an actuating link 10 pivoted at 12 to an extension 13 of the frame 4 has the control link 15 formed in two jointed parts 21, 22. The hood frame 4 is subdivided by a joint at 3 and when the hood is in the collapsed position indicated in single lines in Fig. 1, the joint 20 rests on a lateral extension 24 on the frame 4 so that when pressure is applied to the actuating link 10, the line of force acting on the part 14 of the hood frame 4 to erect it is at the more favourable angle instead of the angle #<SP>1</SP> which would apply if the link 15 was not jointed. |
