A gasket 19 is mounted on an aerosol dispensing container valve mounting up 10 by placing a band of heat-shrinkable material around the skirt 12, with its lower edge overlying the juncture between the skirt and channel 14, and heat-shrinking the band into functional engagement with the skirt. Examples of gasket materials described include stretch-oriented, irradiated polyvinylidene fluoride, polythene, P.V.C. and a natural rubber-paraffin wax composition. Shrinking may be effected by placing the cup in an oven at 240‹ F. for 1 to 3 minutes according to the material. Gasket dimensions are given. |
