An elastomer latex contains a filler in an amt. of 1.75 times, by wt, the amt. of the elastomer of the latex. This is achieved by mixing with the latex 10-30 pts by wt. of a wetting agent per 100 pts by wt. of elastomer, and then mixing the filler into this mixt. of latex and wetting agent. - High filler contents, up to 300 pts by wt or more per 100 pts of rubber in the latex, can be achieved. The latex can be used for the production of foams. - (i) The latex may be that of natural rubber or of, for example, neoprene, butadiene-styrene copolymer, polybutadiene, ethylene-propylene copolymer and ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer.
