A cine camera with a photo-electric exposure control system has a reciprocating shutter 7 with an inclined reflecting face to deflect light from the lens 1 on to a photo-electric cell 21 while the shutter covers gate 2, therebeing a light dimmer, such as perforated diaphragm 14, movable in synchronism with the shutter to reduce the light falling on cell 11 to the average value during a shutter cycle. Galvanometer 13 therefore gives the same reading whether or not the camera is running. Shutter 7 is driven by a cam 8 on shaft 6 which also carries a crank operating the frame 9 bearing pull-down claw 4 and diaphragm 14. Frame 9 and shutter 7 are slidably mounted on shaft 10, claw 4 having an inclined face which slides over the film perforations during the up-stroke. Grey or polarizing filters may replace diaphragm 14. In another embodiment, the dimmer comprises a rim-driven gear-wheel with an arcuate slot covering 180‹ with a perforated diaphragm at one end, used with the inclined face of shutter 7. In another form the mirror is reciprocated in front of the gate on a slotted plate engaging a crank-pin on a driven disc, this crank-pin also engaging a curved slot in a bar pivoted to the plate at one end and having a perforated diaphragm at the other which enters the light beam incident on the mirror. |
